Leo Picks Up #HLWBB Player of the Week Honors

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – After helping Cleveland State women's basketball to a pair of wins at Oakland and Detroit Mercy last weekend, sophomore Destiny Leo has been named the Horizon League Player of the Week. This marks the second weekly honor for Leo this season.

Last time out, Leo and the Vikings picked up an 85-65 victory at Oakland and a 74-70 win at Detroit Mercy, moving into fourth place in the #HLWBB standings with one week of regular season play remaining.

Leo notched back-to-back 20-point performances on the weekend, and has now recorded nine 20+ point games this season. Against Oakland, Leo finished with 24 points, four rebounds and four assists, while she followed that up with 22 points and four assists against Detroit Mercy.

On the weekend, Leo shot 50-percent from the field (15-for-30), while also notching a .923 clip from the free throw line (12-for-13) on the two games.

Entering the final week of regular season play, Leo continues to lead the league averaging 18.7 points per game, while also ranking second with 2.2 three-pointers per game and a .441 clip from the field on the year.

Leo and the Vikings will close out regular season play with three games this week, beginning with a 2:00 p.m. contest at Detroit Mercy this afternoon (Monday, February 21).
