Cleveland State Women’s Basketball Falls To RMU, 68-54

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State women's basketball team closed out its current four-game home stand on Sunday, dropping a 68-54 contest against RMU. With the loss, the Vikings are now 15-6 overall this season and 10-5 in Horizon League play.

Game Stats
· Nadia Dumas led the Viking offense with 21 points, while Destiny Leo added 15 points.
· Nadia Dumas grabbed a team-high eight rebounds, while Amele Ngwafang, Isabelle Gradwell and Isabella Geraci all recorded five boards.
· The Vikings combined for four blocked shots on the game, with three from Nadia Dumas and one from Destiny Leo.

Game Notes
· With her 21 points against RMU, Nadia Dumas posted a career-high, marking her first 20-point game.
· Destiny Leo has now recorded 15+ points in 15 of 18 games played this year.
· The Vikings converted 23 free throws on the game, marking the fifth time this season that they have made 20 or more free throws.

The Game
After RMU was able to take a 36-23 lead into the halftime break, the Colonials extended their lead over the opening minutes of the third quarter, gaining a 47-27 advantage midway through the frame.

The Vikings slowly worked their way back into the contest over the second part of the quarter then, as a pair of free throws and a layup from Nadia Dumas put the score at 49-31 RMU. Cleveland State then closed the frame with five of the final nine points, putting the score at 53-36 RMU heading into the final 10 minutes of action.

Cleveland State opened the fourth quarter with back-to-back baskets then, as an Isabella Geraci jumper and a Destiny Leo three-pointer put the score at 53-41 RMU less than two minutes into the frame.

Although the two teams then traded baskets over the next few possessions, RMU was able to hold its lead over this stretch, gaining a 66-49 lead late in the contest. Despite the Vikings converting from the free throw line late in the contest, RMU was able to hold on for the 68-54 victory.
