Cleveland State Women’s Basketball Closes Out January At IUPUI On Saturday

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State women's basketball team will close out the month of January tomorrow (Saturday, January 29), traveling to IUPUI for a 2:00 p.m. contest. Entering Saturday's game, the Vikings stand at 13-3 overall this season and 8-2 in Horizon League play.

Cleveland State, who is currently on a four-game win streak, will be going for the season sweep of the Jaguars, as the Vikings picked up a forfeit win against IUPUI in the first meeting earlier this season.

Last time out, the Vikings were able to notch their fourth straight win with a 54-45 decision at UIC, maintaining their hold on second place in the #HLWBB standings with their 8-2 record when based off win percentage.

Cleveland State enters the weekend as the highest scoring offensive team in the league, averaging 72.2 points per game, while sophomore Destiny Leo leads the individual category with 20.3 ppg. Last time out, Leo finished with a team-high 17 points against UIC, marking her 12th 15-point performance of the year.

The Vikings are also the top rebounding team in the #HLWBB statistics, grabbing 41.3 boards per game. Against the Flames last time out, CSU held a 49-34 edge in rebounding, including 11 boards from Brittni Moore – her first double-digit rebounding game of the season.

Saturday's game at IUPUI will mark the 100th game played for senior Isabelle Gradwell, who has appeared in every contest during her Cleveland State career.

IUPUI enters Saturday's game standing at 13-5 overall this season and 10-3 in Horizon League games, and has won eight straight contests. When playing at home, the Jaguars are 6-2 on the year.
