Cleveland State Women’s Basketball Announces 2021-22 Non-League Slate

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Cleveland State women's basketball head coach Chris Kielsmeier announced the non-league schedule for the upcoming 2021-22 campaign Wednesday, featuring a seven-game lineup throughout November and December.

COMPLETE NON-LEAGUE SCHEDULE

Six of Cleveland State's seven non-league contests will be played at the Wolstein Center – marking the most home games during non-league play since the 2014-15 campaign.

The Vikings will open the 2021-22 campaign on Tuesday, November 9, hosting ETSU at the Wolstein Center. This will be just the second meeting between the two teams, with Cleveland State picking up a 62-54 victory in the initial matchup during the 2019-20 campaign.

Next up for the Vikings will be back-to-back games against St. Bonaventure and Quincy, as Cleveland State will host the Bonnies on Saturday, November 13 and the Hawks on Sunday, November 14.

Cleveland State will close out the month of November on Sunday, November 28, hosting LIU in the Wolstein Center, marking just the third meeting between the two teams in program history.

The Vikings will hit the road for the first – and only – time during non-league play on Sunday, December 12, traveling to Akron. Against the Zips, Cleveland State owns a 26-17 overall record, most recently picking up a 66-62 victory during the 2019-20 season.

Cleveland State will continue non-league play by hosting Hofstra on Saturday, December 18, marking the second matchup between the two teams. The first meeting between the Vikings and the Pride came during the 2019-20 campaign, with the Vikings earning a 61-51 victory.

Cleveland State's final non-league opponent will be Loyola Chicago – a former Horizon League foe – with the two teams meeting on Tuesday, December 21. The Vikings own a 26-14 overall record against the Ramblers, with the last meeting coming during the 2012-13 season.

Five of Cleveland State's seven non-league opponents were part of the Vikings' record-setting 11-game win streak during the 2019-20 campaign, with the last meeting between CSU and ETSU, St. Bonaventure, LIU, Hofstra, and Akron coming during that 11-game span.

Prior to the official start of the 2021-22 season, the Vikings will host their lone exhibition of the year on Wednesday, November 3, hosting Ursuline College.
