FRANKFORT, Ky. – After leading the Cleveland State women's basketball team to the 2021 WBI Championship, Mariah White was named the Tournament MVP, while Destiny Leo was named to the All-Tournament Team.
For the weekend, White averaged 18.0 points, 5.0 steals and 3.3 assists through the three games. In the championship game against Portland, White finished with 24 points – her 10th 20-point game of the year – along with six steals and three assists.
In the first round game against Manhattan, White posted a team-best 17 points and nine steals, with the nine steals marking a WBI Tournament single-game record, while she recorded 13 points and four assists against Stetson in the semifinal.
White finished the weekend as one of 13 Vikings all-time with 1,300+ points on their career, as she ends the 2020-21 campaign with 1,320 total points to rank 13th on the CSU Scoring List. White also ranks sixth in the CSU Career Record Book with 230 steals after combining for 15 during WBI Tournament play.
Coming off the bench in all three games, Leo averaged 16.3 points on a .429 field goal percentage, knocking down 11 three-pointers throughout the weekend. In the championship game against Portland, Leo posted 15 points on five three-pointers, including the go-ahead three-pointer with 20 seconds remaining.
Against Stetson in the semifinal, Leo posted a team-best 21 points – including five three-pointers – while also grabbing a season-high 10 rebounds for the first double-double of her collegiate career. Leo finished with 13 points and six rebounds in the first round win over Manhattan, giving her double-digit points in all three games last weekend.
Leo finished her rookie campaign as the team's second leading scorer, averaging 11.4 points on the year, while she posted a team-high 51 total three-pointers on a .392 clip this season.
