This year's WBI will be a three-day tournament that features an eight-team field. Joining the Vikings in the field will be Abilene Christian, Florida International, Longwood, Loyola Chicago, Manhattan, Northern Arizona, and Portland.

First round games will take place on Friday, March 19, with action continuing on Saturday, March 20 and Sunday, March 21. All games will be hosted at the William Exum Center on the Kentucky State campus in Frankfort, Kentucky.

Cleveland State will open the WBI with a first round matchup against Manhattan at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, March 19. This will be the first meeting between the two teams in program history.

This will mark Cleveland State's second time playing in the WBI, as the Vikings also participated during the 2010-11 season when the Vikings defeated IPFW in the first round before falling to Chicago State in the second round.
