Kielsmeier Notches 450th Career Win As Vikings Top Green Bay, 60-48

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Cleveland State women's basketball head coach Chris Kielsmeier recorded the 450th victory of his head coaching career Saturday, as the Vikings earned a 60-48 win over the Green Bay Phoenix. The Vikings now stand at 3-7 overall this season.

Game Stats
· The Viking offense was led by Destiny Leo who finished with 15 points, while Isabelle Gradwell added 13 points and Nadia Dumas chipped in 11.
· As a team, Cleveland State grabbed 44 rebounds on the game, including seven from Nadia Dumas and Destiny Leo.
· Cleveland State recorded 16 assists on its 23 made field goals, including nine from Mariah White.
· The Vikings converted 10 three-pointers on the day, with four coming from Isabelle Gradwell and three each from Taylah Levy and Destiny Leo.
· The Cleveland State defense held Green Bay to just a .300 clip from the floor (18-for-60) and 18-percent from three-point (4-for-22).

Game Notes
· Saturday's win gave head coach Chris Kielsmeier his 450th career victory, making him one of just two active #HLWBB coaches to reach the milestone.
· Cleveland State's win against the Phoenix marked just the seventh in program history against Green Bay, and the first since the 2017-18 season.
· Mariah White recorded a career-high with her nine assists on the day.
· Isabelle Gradwell tied her career-high with the four three-pointers, and recorded her first double-digit scoring game of the season with her 13 points.
· With her 11 points against the Phoenix, Nadia Dumas has now posted double-digits in five of the eight games she has played in this season.
· Destiny Leo's trio of three-pointers marked the fourth time this season that she has recorded multiple three-pointers in a game, while they also gave her a team-high 19 for the season.

The Game
After heading into the halftime break trailing by seven at 30-23, Cleveland State was able to even the score over the first three minutes of the third quarter, as the Vikings went on a 7-0 run to knot the score at 30-30 on a Taylah Levy three-pointer. The two teams then traded baskets over the next few possessions, until a Nadia Dumas jumper and a Destiny Leo three-pointer put the Vikings up 38-35 with 3:38 left in the third quarter.

The Vikings were then able to post six straight points to end the frame, gaining a 47-39 advantage heading into the fourth quarter following another Levy three-pointer on Cleveland State's final possession of the frame.

Cleveland State carried its momentum into the fourth quarter then, as a Mariah White jumper and Dumas layup gave the Vikings a double-digit lead at 51-39 – a lead that they would hold for the remainder of the contest.

Midway through the final frame the Vikings gained their largest lead of the contest at 55-41, following a White free throw with 6:49 left on the clock. Although Green Bay was able to trim the CSU lead to single digits over the next few minutes, the Vikings regained an 11-point lead at the 3:05 mark on an Isabelle Gradwell three-pointer – her fourth of the game.

The Cleveland State defense then held Green Bay to just one point over the final minutes of the contest, as the Vikings came away with the 60-48 victory on Saturday afternoon.
