Women’s Basketball Falls At Green Bay, 81-51

GREEN BAY, Wis. – The Cleveland State women's basketball team began its final weekend of regular season play Thursday, dropping an 81-51 contest at Green Bay. The Vikings now enter Saturday's regular season finale with a 19-9 record on the year, including a 9-8 mark in Horizon League play.

Game Stats
· Mariah White led three Vikings in double-figures, finishing with 15 points on the game, while JaMiya Braxton and Isabelle Gradwell both finished with 12 points each.
· As a team, the Vikings converted 10 three-pointers, including four from JaMiya Braxton and Isabelle Gradwell and two from Taylah Levy.
· Mariah White led the Viking defense with five steals on the game, while Jade Ely added two takeaways.

· JaMiya Braxton has now converted at least one three-pointer in 15 straight games, and finished the game tied for sixth in the CSU Single-Season Record Book with 65 three-pointers on the year.
· After posting five steals at Green Bay, Mariah White has now recorded five or more steals in seven games this season.
· Mariah White has now posted double-digit points in eight straight games, and 22 games overall this season.
· Isabelle Gradwell tied her career-high with four three-pointers on the game, while she was just one point shy of tying her season-high with 12 total points on the game.

The Game
After Green Bay held a 32-21 advantage at the halftime break, and then extended its lead to 43-23 over the first part of the third quarter, the Vikings were able to work their way back into the contest throughout the frame.

Over a stretch of 1:30 the Vikings were able to post an 8-1 run to close the gap to 44-31, getting five points from Mariah White and three from JaMiya Braxton during this run.

Although the Phoenix stopped this CSU run with back-to-back baskets, another Braxton three-pointer put the score at 48-34 with 3:13 left on the clock. The two teams then traded baskets throughout the final minutes of the quarter, with a Jade Ely steal and layup with just 18 seconds left on the clock putting the score at 54-41 entering the final 10 minutes of action.

Green Bay was then able to outscore the Vikings 27-10 during the final quarter, pulling away with the 81-51 victory.
