CLEVELAND, Ohio– The Cleveland State women's basketball team hosted its annual Kids Day Game Friday morning, picking up a 58-49 victory over Milwaukee, improving to 15-4 overall this season and 5-3 in Horizon League play.
Game Stats
· Mariah White posted a team-high 16 points on the game, while Mariah Miller added 11 and Julia Hintz recorded nine points.
· Savanna Crockett grabbed a team-best 12 rebounds, while Mariah Miller added eight boards for the Vikings.
· As a team, the Vikings finished with seven blocked shots, including two from Nadia Dumas and Isabella Geraci.
· Cleveland State posted 11 assists on the game, including four from Mariah White.
Game Notes
· With her 11 points against the Panthers, Mariah Miller now has 982 career points, and is just 18 points shy of becoming the 30th Viking all-time to reach the 1,000-point plateau.
· Mariah Miller also moved into 18th place in the CSU Career Record Book after grabbing eight rebounds on the game, finishing with 569 career boards.
· After recording a blocked shot against the Panthers, Savanna Crockett is now tied for the 10th in the CSU Career Record Book with 64 career blocks.
· Julia Hintz posted her season-high nine points on a perfect 3-for-3 performance from behind-the-arc, all of which came during the second half of play.
· Friday's win marked the first victory over Milwaukee since the 2014-15 campaign, and improved the Vikings to 6-1 at the Wolstein Center this year.

The Game
After taking a three-point lead into halftime at 23-20, the Vikings were able to extend their lead over the first part of the third quarter, as a 6-0 run put the Cleveland State advantage at 29-22 with 5:30 left on the clock. Although Milwaukee was able to snap the CSU run with a pair of free throws on the next possession, the Vikings responded with a pair of baskets from Nadia Dumas and Savanna Crockett, putting the CSU lead at 33-24.
Milwaukee was able to close the gap to five points over the next few plays then, but a pair of Julia Hintz three-pointers put the score at 39-30 with just over a minute left in the third quarter.
The Vikings then took a seven-point lead into the final 10 minutes of play, holding a 39-32 advantage, and immediately extended their lead to double-digits following a pair of Mariah White layups on the first two possessions of the frame.
The two teams then traded baskets over the next few plays, until another Hintz three-pointer put the Vikings back up by 10 at 48-38 with 6:01 left to play.
Cleveland State was then able to control play over the final part of the fourth quarter, coming away with the 58-49 win to improve to 15-4 on the season.
