Women’s Basketball Earns Program Record 10th Straight Win With 95-49 Victory Over Lake Erie

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State women's basketball team continued its winning ways Friday evening, setting a program record with its 10th straight win following a 95-49 victory over Lake Erie to close out non-league play. The Vikings improved to 10-1 on the season with Friday's win, marking the best start in program history.

Game Stats
· All 11 Vikings that saw action against the Storm scored for CSU, including five that finished with double-figures.
· Mariah Miller posted a team-high 16 points, while JaMiya Braxton added 15, Jade Ely recorded 14, and Savanna Crockett chipped in 13.
· Savanna Crockett led the Vikings with six rebounds on the game, while Nadia Dumas, Mariah Miller and Isabelle Gradwell each added five boards.
· As a team, the Vikings recorded 25 assists on 37 made field goals, including five helpers from Savanna Crockett.
· Cleveland State recorded 21 steals on the game, with six coming from Jade Ely and five coming from Mariah White.
· The Vikings shot 52-percent from the floor (37-for-71) and had a .538 clip from behind-the-arc (7-for-13).

· Friday's game marked the 10th straight win for the Vikings, setting a program record for consecutive wins.
· As of Friday evening, Cleveland State was one of nine Division I teams to hold an active winstreak of 10 or more games.
· The Vikings finished the non-league portion of their schedule with a 10-1 record, marking the best start in program history.
· The 10 wins marks the first time that the Vikings have finished with double-digit wins during non-league play.
· Cleveland State enters #HLWBB play with a perfect 3-0 record at the Wolstein Center this season.
· Cleveland State's 21 steals against Lake Erie tied a season-high for the Vikings, as they also recorded 21 takeaways against Davis & Elkins.
· This marked the second straight game that the Vikings have shot 50-percent or better from the field and the third time this season.

In the final non-league game of the season, the Vikings were able to open up Friday's game with a 13-2 run over the first 4:48 of the contest, and then went on to control play throughout the remainder of the first half.

Cleveland State went into the halftime break with a 48-23 advantage, and then stretched its lead to 55-27 following a pair of JaMiya Braxton three-pointers on back-to-back possessions over the opening minutes of the third quarter.

The Vikings were able to carry this momentum throughout the rest of the frame then, including a 16-2 run over a span of 4:17, that put CSU up 71-33 with just over two minutes left on the clock.

Cleveland State headed into the final 10 minutes of action with a 40-point lead at 77-37, and opened the final frame with six straight points to extend its lead to 83-37 on back-to-back baskets from Nadia Dumas.

The Vikings were then able to control the final eight minutes of play, coming away with the 95-49 victory to finish non-league play with a 10-1 record.
