INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Following the 2018-19 women's basketball regular season, the Horizon League announced its postseason honors Tuesday, with Cleveland State's Savanna Crockett, Mariah Miller and Mariah White all earning #HLWBB accolades.
Crockett was named the Horizon League Freshman of the Year and earned a spot on the All-Freshman Team, while Miller was named to the All-League First Team and White earned All-Defensive Team honors.
SAVANNA CROCKETT | F | FR | FRESHMAN OF THE YEAR
Crockett was named the Horizon League Freshman of the Year after averaging 11.6 points, 8.6 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game during the regular season. Crockett, who is the only freshman in the Horizon League to appear in the starting lineup during every contest, is averaging 31.9 minutes through 29 games this year. Entering tournament play, Crockett ranks in the top-10 among league players in scoring (10th), rebounding (third) and blocks (third), while she is the top freshman in all three categories.
Throughout the season, Crockett has posted 11 double-doubles to lead the Horizon League, and is also one of just 50 players nationwide with 11 or more double-doubles on the year. The Milwaukee, Wis. native recorded a career-high 24 points against Oakland and notched a career-best 15 rebounds against UIC earlier this year.
For the year, Crockett has a team-best 43 total blocked shots, which ties the CSU Freshman Class Record and is tied for 10th on the CSU Single-Season Record List.
Crockett is the third Viking to earn Freshman of the Year honors and the 11th Viking to be named to the All-Freshman Team.
MARIAH MILLER | G | JR | FIRST TEAM
Miller earned a spot on the All-Horizon League First Team after leading the Cleveland State offense throughout the regular season. Miller averaged 15.7 points per game to rank second among league players, and has recorded 10+ points in all but one game she played in. Miller has also been one of Cleveland State's best rebounders this season, averaging 8.0 boards per game to rank fifth, and is one of just two league players to rank in the top-five in scoring and rebounding.
As a junior, Miller recorded career-highs in scoring and rebounding this year, posting a personal-best 25 points at UIC and grabbing a career-high 17 rebounds against Salem in the season opener.
So far this season, Miller has seven double-doubles, with five coming against league opponents.
Miller is the 13th Viking to earn a spot on the All-Horizon League First Team.
MARIAH WHITE | G | SO | ALL-DEFENSIVE TEAM
White was named to the Horizon League All-Defensive Team after leading the Vikings with 62 total steals this year. Among league players, White ranks second averaging 2.3 steals per game, and is one of just three league players with 2.0+ steals per game.
Through regular season play, White has recorded multiple steals in 19 games, including a career-high five steals against UIC and Detroit Mercy. White and the Vikings lead the league with 273 total steals this year, and enter the league tournament averaging 9.4 takeaways per game.
White is the ninth Viking to be named to the Horizon League All-Defensive Team.
