The Game
Both teams were evenly matched through the first 10 minutes of play, as Cleveland State opened the contest on a 7-2 run that was sparked by a Rachel Slaney three-pointer. Green Bay responded with a 9-2 run of its own to gain an 11-9 advantage, before a Savanna Crockett jumper tied the game at 11-11 with 3:14 left in the quarter. The Phoenix were then able to close out the first 10 minutes of action with a three-point advantage, taking a 17-14 lead into the second quarter.

Green Bay opened the second frame with back-to-back three-pointers to extend its lead to 23-14 less than one minute into the quarter, and then went on to gain a double-digit lead on its next trip down the floor. The Vikings were able to chip away at the lead throughout the rest of the quarter though, closing the frame on a 5-2 run, putting the score at 33-25 Green Bay heading into halftime.

To open the third quarter, Cleveland State went on a 6-3 run over the first 3:49 to close the gap to four points at 36-32 on a Crockett layup, and then stayed within striking distance throughout the frame.

Heading into the final 10 minutes of play, Cleveland State trailed by just four points at 43-39, after another Slaney three-pointer in the final minute of the third quarter. Although the Phoenix were able to post the first basket of the final frame, the Vikings responded with a Crockett layup on the ensuing possession, to come within four points once again at 45-41.

This would be as close as the Vikings would get though, as Green Bay was able to pull away late in the game, despite Cleveland State posting a perfect 8-for-8 performance from the free throw line over a seven-minute span late in the contest. At the final buzzer, Green Bay came away with the 62-53 victory, putting the Vikings at 3-2 in league play.
