Crockett Picks Up Back-To-Back #HLWBB Freshman Of The Week Honors

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – After leading the Cleveland State women's basketball team to a 2-0 start in Horizon League play, Savanna Crockett has been named the Horizon League Freshman of the Week.

This marks the fourth weekly honor for Crockett, with the four accolades marking a #HLWBB season-high. Crockett is also the first Horizon League rookie to win the honor in back-to-back weeks.

Last time out, Crockett led the Vikings to a pair of wins at Oakland (64-62) and Detroit Mercy (67-49), marking the third straight season that Cleveland State has opened league play with a 2-0 mark.

Crockett averaged 11.5 points, 9.0 rebounds and 2.0 blocked shots per game on the weekend, posting 16 points and 12 rebounds at Oakland and seven points and six rebounds at Detroit Mercy.

The 16 points and 12 boards against the Golden Grizzlies marked Crockett's seventh double-double of the year, as she is one of just 24 players nationwide with seven or more double-doubles on the season.

Among Horizon League players, Crockett sits at the top of the standings with 9.8 rebounds per game and ranks 13th with 11.8 points per game this season.

Crockett and the Vikings will return home for the first time in Horizon League play this week, hosting IUPUI (Thursday, January 3) and UIC (Saturday, January 5).
