Crockett Named #HLWBB Freshman Of The Week

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – For the first time this season, the Cleveland State women's basketball team has been honored by the Horizon League, as Savanna Crockett has been named the #HLWBB Freshman of the Week.

Through three contests last week, Crockett averaged 12.3 points, 10.0 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game. The Milwaukee, Wis. native also finished with a .593 field goal percentage on the week, including an .875 clip on a 7-for-8 performance against Tulane.

Crockett recorded her third and fourth double-doubles of the season against San Diego and Tulane at the San Diego Thanksgiving Tournament, posting 15 points and 13 rebounds against the host Toreros, and 14 points and 10 boards against the Green Wave.

Against Illinois State, Crockett finished with eight points, seven rebounds and three steals, helping the Vikings remain undefeated at home this year.

For the season, Crockett is averaging 11.4 points and 10.0 rebounds per game, the only Horizon League player to be averaging a double-double.

Crockett has appeared in the starting lineup during all seven games so far this year, and has also tallied a team-best 10 blocked shots.

Crockett and the Vikings will continue the 2018-19 campaign on Saturday (December 1), traveling to Ohio University for a 1:00 p.m. contest.
