Vikings Fall To Youngstown State, 66-52

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State women's basketball team came up short in their return to the Wolstein Center Saturday afternoon, dropping a 66-52 contest to Youngstown State. The Vikings are now 12-7 overall this season and 4-4 in Horizon League action.

· Khayla Livingston posted a team-best 13 points, while Olivia Voskuhl added nine.
· Olivia Voskuhl and Mariah White both grabbed eight rebounds, while Shadae Bosley chipped in six boards.
· Mariah White recorded five steals on the game.
· Khayla Livingston posted three assists.

Game Notes
· For the first time this season, the Vikings used a new starting lineup, with Mariah Miller picking up her first start of the year.

The Game
After a back-and-forth first half, Cleveland State went into the halftime break with a one-point advantage at 23-22, but a 7-2 run from the Penguins to start the third quarter gave YSU a 29-25 lead at the 6:07 mark. The Penguins then went on to hold the advantage for the rest of the frame, heading into the final 10 minutes of action with the score at 44-35, Youngstown State.

Over the start of the fourth quarter Youngstown State was able to extend its lead to 15 points at the 52-37 mark, but a pair of Mariah White free throws and an Olivia Voskuhl three-pointer brought the Vikings back within 10 points at 52-42 with 6:54 left on the clock.

Although the Vikings were able to close the gap to single digits on a Voskuhl jumper at the 2:18 mark, Youngstown State controlled play throughout the rest of the contest, coming away with the 66-52 victory.

CSU Career Record Book
· Khayla Livingston moved into 14th place in the CSU Career Record Book in scoring after posting 13 points against YSU, finishing the game with 1,229 points.
