Vikings Fall At Green Bay, 79-60

GREEN BAY, Wis. – The Cleveland State women's basketball team continued its four-game roadswing at Green Bay Thursday evening, falling to the Phoenix, 79-60. With the loss the Vikings now stand at 12-12 overall this season and 7-6 in Horizon League play.

Game Stats
· Ashanti Abshaw led the Viking offense with 22 points, while Khayla Livingston added 13 points.
· Olivia Voskuhl grabbed a team-high seven rebounds, while Ashanti Abshaw grabbed five boards.
· Jade Ely tallied three assists on the game, while Olivia Voskuhl, Chrishna Butler, and Khayla Livingston all recorded two helpers.
· Ashanti Abshaw tallied two steals against the Green Bay.
· Shadae Bosley recorded two blocked shots on the game.
· As a team, the Vikings shot 43-percent from the floor on the game, including a .600 clip during the first quarter.

Game Notes
· With her 22 points against Green Bay, Ashanti Abshaw eclipsed the 950-point mark for her career, finishing the contest with 955 career points.
· Ashanti Abshaw recorded her 10th 20-point game of the season – and her third out of the last four contests – with her 22 points.
· After converting a pair of three-pointers on the game, Khayla Livingston is now tied for 10th in the CSU Career Record book with 130 made three-pointers on her career.
· With her two blocked shots against the Phoenix, Shadae Bosley now has 77 career blocks, just four blocked shots shy of moving into seventh place in the CSU Career Record book.

The Game
Although the Vikings were able to keep it a close game during the first quarter and opening minutes of the second frame, Green Bay went on a 21-9 run to close out the second quarter, gaining a 48-34 advantage at the halftime break.

Green Bay was able to hold its double-digit lead throughout the third quarter then, but the Vikings were able to close the gap to 10 points at 62-52 after forcing a shot clock violation on the Phoenix and an Ashanti Abshaw free throw at the 2:09 mark.

To start the fourth quarter, Cleveland State converted the first two baskets – a pair of layups from Chrishna Butler and Olivia Voskuhl – to close the Green Bay lead to single-digits at 64-56 with 7:45 left on the clock. The Phoenix responded with 16 straight points though, regaining their double-digit lead at the 79-56 mark. A Jade Ely three-pointer at the 1:26 mark stopped the Green Bay run, but it would be the final field goal of the contest for the Vikings, as Green Bay came away with the 79-60 victory.
