Vikings Team Up With Area High Schools For Wrestling Doubleheaders

The Cleveland State wrestlers open up the new year with back-to-back doubleheaders on January 5 and 12 in the Woodling Gymnasium. In addition, prior to the team's only match in December two youth teams will face off against each other.

On Thursday, December 6, 2001 the NEO Youth Wrestling League will feature West End YMCA against Westshore at 5:30 p.m. prior to the Vikings' encounter with Edinboro on 7:30 p.m.

On Saturday, January 5, 2002 Walsh Jesuit High School will take on St. Edward High School at 5:00 p.m. At 7:30 p.m. the Vikings will wrestle Michigan, the 4th-ranked team in the nation.

The following Saturday, January 12, 2002 Solon High School will face Garfield Heights High School at 5:00 p.m. Afterwards the Vikings will host nationally 7th-ranked Ohio State at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets for all three dates will be $4. Tickets can be purchased through CSU at (216) 687-4848 or at the Convocation box office. Tickets may also be purchased through the four high schools.
