Eastern Wrestling League Finals To Air On Fox Sports Net Ohio

CLEVELAND - The Eastern Wrestling League Championships will be televised on Fox Sports Net Ohio on tape delay at 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 16. The EWL Championships took place March 8-9 at the WVU Coliseum in Morgantown, W.Va.

CSU's championship matches will feature Gerald Harris (Tulsa, Okla./East Central) at 184, Phil Mansueto (Middletown, N.Y./Middletown) at 133 and Rocco Mansueto (Middletown, N.Y./Middletown) at 125.

In the team race, Cleveland State finished third, the best finish since the 1986-87 squad placed second behind then-league member Penn State.

"The opportunity to showcase the CSU Wrestling program and the EWL on Fox Sports Net Ohio is a major step forward in raising the visibility of our program," commented CSU Director of Athletics Lee Reed. "Coach Effner and his student-athletes have earned this opportunity for greater exposure and the wrestling fans of Ohio will be impressed by the quality of our League and our program."

Kyle Wiggs and Tony Onorato will announce the event, which also will be shown on Fox Sports Net Pittsburgh on tape delay March 15 and 17.

The EWL consists of Cleveland State, Bloomsburg, Lock Haven, Clarion, West Virginia, Virginia Tech, Pittsburgh and Edinboro.
