The second annual Cleveland State Open gave fans a look at what next year could be like for the Viking wrestlers. With top wrestlers Russ Davie, Gerald Harris II and Phil Mansueto each taking redshirt years, the CSU team has struggled this season. But in hosting the CSU Open fans got a glimpse of what could be. Davie, Harris and Mansueto rolled through their respective weight classes with each earning first place awards.

In addition to those honors, the Vikes also got a second place finish from freshman Anthony Coleman at 149 pounds. Coleman lost a close battle to former Amherst Steele standout Jake Percival, now at Ohio University. In the 197 pound weight class Stipe Miocic and Bert Dobies,, both sitting out the season to fill requirements, took third and fourth, respectively.
