One of the top heavyweight wrestlers in the nation...an NCAA Qualifier in 2000 and 2003, has his sights set on becoming a three-time qualifier.




2002-03 - Junior Season

Qualified for the NCAA Championships by finishing third in the EWL Championships...compiled a record of 26-10 on the season...recorded nine pins on the year, including pins in his first three matches at the Oklahoma Classic...had a string of 12 straight wins from 1/12 to 2/8...included in the unbeaten stretch were five shutout victories...dropped a pair of matches at the NCAA Championships to conclude his season.




2001-02 - Sophomore Season

Finished with a 15-8 mark on the season, including winning the heavyweight division at the Cornell Invitational...was forced to withdraw from the EWL Championships with a knee injury suffered with 10 seconds remaining in his opening match...recorded four pins, second-best on the squad...also finished second at the Oklahoma Classic in the heavyweight class.




2000-01 - Redshirt Season

Won the Cleveland State Open and was second in the Ashland Eagle Open as an unattached wrestler...finished second in the FILA Junior World Trials in Greco...was fifth in the U.S. Senior World Team Trials in Cincinnati...was named to the U.S. National Team after placing seventh in Greco in the U.S. Open.




1999-00 - Freshman Season

Earned Most Outstanding Wrestler honors after opening the year as the starting heavyweight...led team with 54 dual meet points...recorded five dual meet pins on the season, one shy of the school record...took second in the EWL Championships to earn berth in the NCAA Championships...upset the six-seed, Antonio Garay of Boston College, 10-6, in the first round, before falling to the 11th-seed, Matt Lamb of Michigan St....named to all-rookie second team by Amateur Wrestling News...pinned John Carroll's Matt Sobey in 34 seconds in his first collegiate match.




High School

Was a four-time all-league selection and two-time all-sectional and all-district honoree...was a two-time state qualifier and finished third in the state as a senior...holds high school records for wins in a season (40) and for the most pins in a season (27)...1999 Junior National Champion in Greco and fourth in the nation in freestyle...member of the Cadet National Team in 1997.




Personal

Born March 7, 1981, in Toledo, Ohio...son of Peter and Pam Davie...has earned three CSU Athletic Academic Excellence Awards...history and social studies major, minoring in education.
