Cleveland State Wrestling With Nine Pre-Seeds for MAC Championships

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The Mid-American Conference (MAC) announced today the pre-seeding for the upcoming 2024 MAC Wrestling Championship (March 8-9), hosted by Kent State University at Memorial Athletic and Convocation Center in Kent, Ohio.
 
Listed below is the pre-seeding for the MAC Wrestling Championship following today's conference call with all 13 MAC head wrestling coaches. The MAC will release the final 2024 MAC Wrestling Championship brackets on Thursday evening.

The Vikings had nine wrestlers included in the seedings, led by Daniel Bucknavich as the top-seed at 285-pounds. The 2022 MAC Champion, Ben Smith is seeded second at 197-pounds along with Tate Geiser at 165-pounds. Nick Molchak is seeded third at 133-pounds and Dylan Layton is fifth at 141-pounds.

Ben Aranda and Marcus Robinson were seeded sixth at 125 and 157 pounds respectively. DeAndre Nassar slotted into the seventh spot at 174-pounds and Douglas Terry rounds out the squad in eighth at 149-pounds.

Cleveland State will also be represented by Joey Lyons at 184-pounds.
