Cleveland State Wrestling Extends Win Streak to Four, Defeating Bloomsburg, 40-5

BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – Cleveland State (7-7, 5-2) won their fourth straight match on Saturday afternoon after defeating Bloomsburg (4-15, 0-8), 40-5.

The Vikings got on the board first as Ben Aranda recorded a 6-4 decision at 125-pounds to make it 3-0. Nick Molchak followed with a 9-0 major decision at 133-pounds as the margin grew to 7-0. A forfeit at 141-pounds gave the Green and White six more points to lead 13-0.

Ethan Mitchell recorded a fall in 1:19 at 149-pounds to stretch the advantage to 19-0. At 157 pounds, Marcus Robinson picked up a 20-4 technical fall to make it 24-0.

Bloomsburg got on the board with a technical fall at 165-pounds to trail 24-5. The Green and White came right back with a 4-2 decision from DeAndre Nassar at 174-pounds and a 5-0 shutout from Joey Lyons at 184-pounds to lead 30-5.

The Vikings ended the match with back-to-back technical falls from No. 33 Ben Smith at 197-pounds by a score of 18-2 and 17-0 by No. 20 Daniel Bucknavich at 285-pounds to win the match, 40-5.

Cleveland State will have its final away dual on Thursday, Feb. 22 at Kent State with a 7 p.m. start time.
