CLEVELAND, Ohio – Cleveland State (5-7, 3-2) upended Edinboro (1-10, 0-6) 38-6 on Friday evening during senior and alumni night. Before the match, the Green and White recognized their five seniors: Pino Dipierro, DeAndre Nassar, Daniel Patten, Gabe Phillips, and Ben Smith.

The Vikings opened the night with a 14-4 major decision by Ben Aranda to take a 4-0 lead after the 125-pound match. Consecutive falls by Nick Molchak and Dylan Layton extended the Green and White lead to 16-0.

Edinboro got on the board with a 3-1 decision at 149-pounds to trail 16-3. Making his season debut, Marcus Robinson recorded a 21-5 technical fall at 157-pounds to extend the margin to 21-3.

At 165-pounds, Daniel Patten notched a fall in 2:26 as the Vikings lead grew to 27-3. DeAndre Nassar followed with an 11-1 major decision to make it 31-3 in favor of the home team.

The Scots picked up their final points of the night at 184-pounds behind a 4-2 decision to get within 31-6. No. 33 Ben Smith regained the points with a 4-1 decision at 197-pounds, and No. 20 Daniel Bucknavich capped off the night with a 13-0 major decision at 285-pounds as Cleveland State won, 38-6.

The Vikings hit the road for three straight matches starting with Lock Haven on Friday, Feb. 16 at 7 p.m.
