Cleveland State With Three Champions, Six Placers at Cleveland State Open

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Vikings had three champions and six placers at their annual Cleveland State Open on Saturday.

Douglas Terry repeated as the 149-pound champion after going 4-0 on the day with two major decisions and two decisions. Terry's two majors came in the semifinals and finals.

No. 26 Ben Smith won the 197-pound championship after going 4-0 with his final three matches being won on major decisions. No. 32 Daniel Bucknavich capped off the day with a 285-pound championship after going 4-0.

Ben Aranda placed fourth at 125-pounds after going 2-2 with a technical fall and decision. Tate Geiser came in fourth at 165-pounds with a 2-2 record including a technical fall in the quarterfinals. Shane Heil wrestled the maximum matches on the day to finish fifth at 157-pounds. Heil went 5-1 with two decisions, a major, a technical, and a fall.
