Opening Notes
The Vikings are back home on Saturday with a MAC tri-match against George Mason (11 a.m.) and SIUE (2 p.m.). The Patriots and Cougars will face each other in the middle contest at 12:30 p.m.

Last Time Out
The Vikings suffered a 27-18 setback at Ohio University on Sunday afternoon, dropping the Green and White to 3-6 on the year and 2-3 in MAC competition. On the day, Cleveland State got decisions from Jake Manley and Anthony Perrine, while Daniel Bucknavich recorded a fall and Marcus Robinson received a forfeit.

NCAA Rankings
In the initial NCAA rankings, Dylan Layton was ranked No. 30 at 141-pounds and Marcus Robinson was ranked No. 33 at 157-pounds.

Wrestle Stat Rankings
In the week 12 edition of the rankings, Dylan Layton (141 Pounds) moved up a spot to No. 19, Daniel Bucknavich (285 Pounds) made his debut at No. 32, and Marcus Robinson (157 Pounds) dropped a spot to No. 27.

Marcus Robinson made his debut in the latest rankings, coming in at No. 29 after going 2-0 on the week. The senior is currently 11-3 overall and a perfect 5-0 in dual matches.

Matchup History
The Vikings are 5-3 all-time against George Mason and are winners of the last two meetings. Last season, the Green and White came away with a 22-15 victory in Fairfax, Va., the site of the 2023 MAC Championships. Cleveland State carries an impressive 5-1 mark all-time against SIUE and were winners last season in a neutral site match at Buffalo by a score of 24-15.

About the Teams
George Mason enters Saturday with a 9-3 overall record and a 1-1 mark in MAC matches. The Patriots won their first eight matches of the season before dropping two straight against ACC opponents. George Mason is currently ranked No. 19 in the Mid-Major poll and is led by Peter Pappas, who is ranked No. 32 at 157-pounds.

SIU Edwardsville has a busy weekend with three matches in two days, starting with Kent State this evening on the road. The Cougars will then come to Cleveland tomorrow with a 3-5 overall mark and are winless in the MAC at 0-4. SIUE is coming off a 47-0 shutout of Lindenwood and has three guys currently ranked by InterMat; No. 17 Colton McKiernan (285 Pounds), No.21 Saul Ervin (141 Pounds), and No. 24 Caleb Tyus (149 Pounds).
