Opening Notes
Cleveland State kicks off the new year with a road dual match at Lake Erie College tomorrow evening at 6 p.m.

Last Time Out
The Vikings concluded the 2022 calendar year at the Ken Kraft Midlands Championships hosted by Northwestern University. Marcus Robinson was the lone Viking in the championship quarterfinals this evening after winning his first three matches via decisions. In the quarters, he fell to No. 14 Trevor Chumbley of Northwestern, 8-0. Dylan Layton won his first match of the day after receiving a bye in the first round. The freshman then dropped a 10-4 decision to No. 19 Jesse Vasquez of Arizona State. Layton then fought back with a 3-2 overtime victory over Michael Dolan of West Virginia and then advanced via an injury default against No. 23 Joe Zargo of Wisconsin. The other highlight of the afternoon was Daniel Patten knocking off No. 28 Tony Negron of Arizona State in overtime, 9-7.

Series History
This will be just the second meeting all-time against the Storm with the previous coming in 2015. In that match, the Green and White fell 18-17.

About the Storm
Lake Erie comes into the match ranked No. 19 in the NCAA Division II Intermat rankings. The Storm has a pair of guys ranked on the year; No. 4 James Penfold (174 pounds) and No. 6 Christian Small (141 pounds).
