CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Cleveland State wrestling team will continue it's adjust 2020-21 campaign this weekend, as the Vikings are set to make their second appearance in the Mid-American Conference Championship.

The MAC meet will take place over two days at Rider's CURE Insurance Arena in Trenton, New Jersey. The first day of competition will take place on Friday, February 26, and feature the opening round, quarterfinals and semifinals along with two consolation rounds. The Championships will conclude Saturday, February 27, with two more consolation rounds and placement matches. Saturday's action will begin at 11:00 a.m., while Sunday's action will begin at 12:00 p.m. 

Video of the championships will be available via GoBroncs.com and ESPN+ while results will be available through TrackWrestling. During the first part of the both days fans will be able to watch the championships on BroncVision with each mat having it's own camera feed, while the semifinals and placement matches will be available on ESPN+.

Due to COVID-19 protocols, there will be no spectators allowed at the MAC Championships.

Based on its regular season performance, the MAC earned 35 total automatic qualifying spots that will be earned at the championships this weekend. The MAC owns the following automatic spots: 125 pounds (3), 133 pounds (4), 141 pounds (3), 149 pounds (3), 157 pounds (3), 165 pounds (1), 174 pounds (2), 184 pounds (2), 197 pounds (2), and 285 pounds (2).

Six of the 10 Vikings competing this weekend earned a seed for the upcoming event.

DeAndre Nassar (184) and Ben Smith (197) enter the weekend as Cleveland State's highest ranked wrestlers, both earning the No. 4 seed in their respective weight classes. 

The duo of Riley Smucker (165) and Marcus Robinson (149) earned No. 6 seeds in their respective weight classes, while Justin Patrick (133) and Anthony Rice (174) enter the championships as No. 7 seeds.

Rice is one of four Vikings that will be competing in a collegiate conference championship for the first time, joining Cody Moosman (125), Jack Gorman (141) and Daniel Patten (157), while Robinson will be competing at the MAC Championship as a Viking for the first time, and John Kelbly (285) will be making his second appearance.
