YPSILANTI, Mich. - The Cleveland State University wrestling team dropped matches to Indiana and host Eastern Michigan in a tri-dual Sunday morning at the Convocation Center.

CSU lost to the Eagles in the first match of the day, 38-12, before falling to the Hoosiers, 46-6.

Sophomore Evan Cheek and redshirt junior Nick Corba both picked up wins by fall Sunday to continue their strong starts to the season.

Cheek won by fall over Indiana's Cole Weaver in his second match of the day. He dropped a tight, 5-3, decision to the Eagles' Kyle Springer. Cheek is now 9-4 on the campaign with six of his nine wins being bonus-point victories.

Corba pinned Kayne MacCallum of EMU in his first match of the day in under 70 seconds. He then fell via decision to Nate Jackson of the Hoosiers, an athlete currently ranked among the top 10 nationally by multiple outlets. Corba now owns a team-leading 11 wins on the season, seven of which have been of the bonus-point variety.

Senior Nick Montgomery, who was competing at 157 after wrestling at 149 a few weeks ago, battled in a pair of tight matches but came up short both times. He lost 10-7 to EMU's Zac Carson and fell 4-2 to IU's Jake Danishek.

Cleveland State will finally get to compete at home when it continues action next Saturday, Dec. 17, as it hosts the Cleveland State Open.
