The Cleveland State tennis team will host its inaugural Viking Tennis Alumni Weekend on Sept. 12 beginning at 11 a.m. at the Malaga Tennis Center.

The festivities, celebrating the team’s recent success including men’s back-to-back Horizon League Championships, will include singles and doubles matches against the current team. There will also be food and an opportunity to tailgate at the Browns game against the Minnesota Vikings on Sept. 13.

“This is the first year that we’ve had enough momentum to pull this off,” head coach Brian Etzkin said. “It is a real moment of pride for me knowing that my players want to come back and be with the team. It is really a testament to the quality of the type of people they are and the program as a whole.”

This will be an annual event and will center around a whole weekend of activites, giving alumni the opportunity to spend time in Cleveland, be with old friends and meet with the current team.
