CLEVELAND, Ohio - Cleveland State senior men's tennis standout Rob Fox has been named to the Capital One Academic All-District IV at-large team in a voting of the membership of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

The team was announced on Thursday (May 19) afternoon.

Fox, who sports a 3.90 grade point average as a Marketing, Management and Labor Relations major, recently concluded his career as a Viking. He went 22-13 at No. 2 singles this year and teamed with John Haley to post a school record 28 doubles wins, finishing the year with a 28-10 mark.

"This is a well-deserved honor for Rob because it shows the balance in his life day in and day out," head coach Brian Etzkin said. "Rob epitomizes what a true student-athlete is with the way he excels on the court and in the classroom."

Fox, a native of The Rotterdam, Netherlands, earned first team All-Horizon League honors for the first time in his career this year. In addition, Fox received the Herb Foster Sportsmanship Award which recognizes student-athletes who display admirable conduct both on and off the courts.

Fox concluded his career ranked second all-time at CSU with 96 singles wins. In addition, he was part of four Horizon League championship teams and played in the NCAA Championship in each of his four years.

He also helped CSU go 26-1 in Horizon League matches during his four years in the program.

The Academic All-America program honors male and female student-athletes annually who have succeeded at the highest level on the playing field and in the classroom. Individuals are selected through voting by CoSIDA, a 2,000 member organization consisting of sports public relations professionals for colleges and universities in the United States and Canada.

To be eligible, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.30 on a scale of 4.00, have reached at least sophomore athletic and academic standing at his/her current institution and be nominated by his/her sports information director. District IV consists of the states of Alabama, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio and Tennessee.
