The Vikings earned a spot in the NCAA Tournament after capturing their fifth Horizon League title, by way of a 4-3 upset over top-seeded Green Bay. CSU will be trying for its first-ever NCAA Tournament victory this weekend, as the Vikings have fallen to Kentucky and Ohio State in their previous postseason appearances. All five trips to the NCAA Tournament have come under head coach Brian Etzkin, who has been with the team since the 2002-03 season.

Entering the weekend, Matt Kuelker has a team-best 18-15 singles record, while Ali Shabib is close behind with a 17-15 mark. Jorg van der Vloet and Joe VanMeter both have 14 singles wins on the year, while Niklas Jonsson has 13 and Nolan Marks has 11. CSU's No. 1 doubles team of Shabib and Jonsson has an outstanding 14-4 record this spring, while the No. 2 team of Marks and Kuelker have a 7-3 mark and the No. 3 duo of van der Vloet and VanMeter stand at 6-3 this spring.
