April 28, 2003

The Cleveland State men's tennis team wrapped up their 2002-03 season at the Horizon League Championship Sunday, taking fifth overall with a solid defeat of Youngstown State 5-0.

Freshman Jay Tee (Davenport, Iowa/Davenport Central), the Horizon League Tennis Newcomer of the Year, went undefeated at the No. 3 singles match, going 6-0, 6-0 against Justin Beck. Sophomore Jordan Reynolds (North Olmsted, Ohio/North Olmsted) followed suit, upending Kosta Kerapetsas 6-0, 6-0. The Vikings also won all three doubles matches against the Penguins.

CSU concludes the season with a 9-19 record overall. The Vikings look to return all but one player for next year, as senior Adam Mercurio (Lorain, Ohio/Lorain Catholic) completed his final season.
