Cleveland, OH-Despite chilly temperatures more characteristic of a football game then a tennis match, the Cleveland State women's tennis team clobbered UW-Milwaukee, 6-1 and the men's team shut out Robert Morris, 7-0 Sunday afternoon for both teams' second win of the weekend.

4-2 in conference play, the women quickly swept the doubles point to put the Vikings up 1-0. No. 1 Sarah Galon and Morgan Ungerott finished first with an 8-2 win over Margie Van Lieshout and Traci Litscher. At No. 3 doubles Jenn Myers and Christine Vogelgesang downed Samantha Drews and Lauren Fenley 8-3. Lindsay Sellers and Kristin Chamberlain completed the CSU sweep with an 8-6 win over Shayna Illingworth and Elizabeth Angel at No. 2 doubles.

The Vikings continued to dominate singles play, winning five of their six matches. Vogelgesang had the closest match of the day at No. 6 singles, knocking off Angel 6-1, 2-6, 10-8. On a five-match winning streak, Ungerott topped Illingworth 6-2, 6-3 at No. 3 singles, improving to 17-13 for the year.

"It's great that we were able to finish off both conference teams this weekend and ensure us a fourth place or higher spot in the league," said coach Brian Etzkin. "Congratulations to Morgan Ungerott on earning her fifth conference win in a row."

The men's team took to the courts second, but with no less focus than the women. CSU came out strong, sweeping the doubles point to secure the early lead. The No. 1 duo of Olivier Dhaine and Jay Tee downed Scott Golmic and David Yokitis 8-2, improving to 9-5 on the season. At No. 2 doubles Rob West and Dan Singer downed Youssef Mekaoui and Thomas Delorie 8-6. Brad Groleski and Steven Wipprecht followed in suit with an 8-1 victory over Nick Paganett and Ryan Cameron at No. 3 doubles.

Cleveland State kept the rhythm going in singles with No. 1 Dhaine topping Paganett 6-0, 6-2 and improving to 13-4 for the year. In the most thrilling match of the day, No. 2 Tee defeated Mekaoui 5-7, 6-0, 10-5. At No. 3 singles Groleski blanked Cyrus Manouchehrian 6-0, 6-0. "I'm so excited that we got our tenth win of the year because that was one of our goals from the beginning," said Etzkin. "We played well today up and down the lineup." I also want to say thanks once again to all of the families who attended our matches this weekend. It's great to be a part of a program with so much support."

Both the men and women are back on the road next week, traveling to UIC on Apr. 15.
