CHICAGO, Ill. - The Cleveland State men's tennis team continued its dominance in the Horizon League, winning at UIC on Sunday, 5-2, for its 20th consecutive win over a league opponent.

The last time CSU lost to a league foe was a 4-3 setback to Butler on April 6, 2008.

"I thought we did a good job of going out and playing good all-around tennis today," head coach Brian Etzkin said. "There were some very windy conditions today and I thought everyone did a good job of staying mentally strong and hitting some great shots."

CSU won the doubles point, taking two of the three contests, including an 8-4 win by Phil Orno and Ryan Hamning at the No. 1 slot. In addition, Yannick Goossens and Chris Klepatz won at No. 3 doubles, 8-4.

"I thought winning the doubles point was huge today," Etzkin said. "It allowed us to take control of the match and let us play more loose in singles knowing that we had a little cushion."

CSU won four of the six singles matches to clinch the win and remain perfect in the Horizon League at 4-0.

CSU is also 13-6 overall this spring.

The Vikings will be back in action on Saturday, April 10, when CSU hosts Wright State at 2:00 p.m.
