LAIE, Hawaii - Cleveland State concluded its four-match spring break trip in Hawaii with a 7-0 loss to BYU-Hawaii on Thursday (March 14). The Vikings finished the trip 1-3 and are now 11-5 on the season.

After the NAIA Seasiders won all three doubles matches, they quickly took five of the contest's six singles points in straight sets. Sophomore Rob West's three-set loss at No. 5 singles put up the biggest fight in the loss. West won the first set 6-7 (3) before falling 6-4 and in the match-breaker 10-7. Junior Brad Groleski was also competitive in his second set against A.J. Bartlett, taking Bartlett to a tie-breaker before falling 7-6 (4).

"We played well but BYU-Hawaii is one of the top teams in the nation at their level," head coach Brian Etzkin said. "They were simply better, top to bottom."

Cleveland State returns to action on March 23 with a match at Youngstown State, a team the Vikings swept last October. First serve is set for 7:00 p.m.
