MANOA, Hawaii - Sophomore Rob West won in three sets at No. 5 singles but CSU lost every other match in a 6-1 loss to Hawai'i Pacific on Sunday. The loss to Pacific, the opening contest of a four-match trip in Hawaii, sends the Vikings to 10-3 on the season.

After dropping the first set, 6-3, against Jan Hroch, West stormed back by winning the next two sets 6-2, 6-1. The only other match to go three sets was senior Dan Singer's 7-5, 4-6, 7-6 (6) setback against Peter Raben at No. 4 singles.

"We had some opportunities in some spots, but couldn't win any big points," head coach Brian Etzkin said. "Hawai'i is a talented team and I was impressed with our effort against them."

All three of CSU's doubles teams lost, 8-2. Hawai'i Pacific controlled the first three singles spots in three sets to clinch the match early.

CSU will continue its spring break in the Aloha State at Hawai'i Hilo on Monday and Hawai'i BYU on Tuesday.
