Olean, N.Y. - The doubles point again proved to be the difference between a win and a loss for the Cleveland State men's tennis team, as the Vikings fell by a 4-3 score to St. Bonaventure Saturday (Feb. 4) afternoon.

"It was a good fight again," head coach Brian Etzkin said. "It's frustrating, but we are going to figure it out. We are very close to breaking through."

The Bonnies claimed the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and 2. The CSU No. 3 doubles team of Brad Groleski and Dan Singer topped St. Bonaventure, 8-4, but the win would go for naught.

In singles, the Bonnies put the match out of reach with three quick wins at No. 1, 3, and 4. Junior Olivier Dhaine scored a strong 7-5, 7-5 win at No. 2 to remain undefeated at singles this spring. Junior Dan Singer and freshman Steven Wipprecht also added wins at No. 5 and 6 to make the match close in the end.

"We won in exactly the same spots we did yesterday," Etzkin said. "We might switch some things around in doubles and see if we can straighten it out. We have to figure that out before we head into conference play next week. Once we do that, we will be ready."

The loss is the Vikings' second one-point defeat in as many nights after falling to Niagara on Friday (Feb. 3) by a 4-3 score.

CSU heads to Iowa City on Friday (Feb. 10) to take on Iowa beginning at 7:30 p.m.
