Cleveland State Men’s Tennis Drops 4-0 Match At Notre Dame

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - The Cleveland State men's tennis team was back in action Sunday evening, dropping a 4-0 contest at Notre Dame. Sunday's match marked the second of three straight contests against Power Five opponents for the Vikings.

"We had some really good matches today and gave Notre Dame a battle," head coach Brian Etzkin said. "We made them earn all of the points they got, and I believe we had some points out there that we didn't get to finish. I can feel the team getting better and better each time out, and we are now ready for some outdoor tennis next week when we travel south to Texas."

Following Sunday's match, which was the second of a five-match roadswing, Cleveland State stands at 8-5 on the year.

After picking up the doubles point, Notre Dame was also able to earn wins at the top three singles spots.

Carl Gedlitschka, Nico Jamison and Devin Boyer all played unfinished matches on the day, with Boyer being up 2-6, 6-4, 5-3 at No. 6 singles before his match was suspended.

The Vikings will now take their annual Spring Break Trip next week, traveling south to face Baylor (March 10) and Texas A&M Corpus Christi (March 12).
