Cleveland State Men’s Tennis Falls At Purdue, 5-2

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Cleveland State men's tennis team returned to action Saturday, dropping a 5-2 contest at Purdue.

"Today was a really good four-hour college match. Lots of momentum swings, with Purdue unfortunately getting the final one. I felt like we had multiple ways to get four points today, but it didn't happen. Despite that, the team represented CSU well and left it all on the court, and credit to the guys who put their points on the board. Time to recover and get ready for tomorrow's match," head coach Brian Etzkin said.

Despite dropping the doubles point, the duo of Lincoln Battle and Devin Boyer earned a 6-0 win at the No. 3 spot.

In singles, the Vikings picked up two wins, one at the top of the lineup from Battle and at the No. 3 spot from Kade Mindry.

Battle notched a 6-4, 6-1 victory at No. 1 singles, while Mindry earned a 3-6, 6-3, 6-1 victory at the No. 3 spot.

The Vikings will be back in action tomorrow, traveling to Notre Dame for a 5:00 p.m. contest.
