CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Cleveland State men's tennis team continued the spring slate Friday morning, dropping a 5-2 contest against UIC at the Medical Mutual Tennis Pavilion. With the loss, the Vikings now stand at 6-3 overall this year.
Cleveland State's two points on the day came from Devin Boyer and Nico Jamison in the singles lineup, while the duo of Kade Mindry and Jamison also picked up a win despite dropping the doubles point.
Boyer picked up a 7-6(2), 6-4 win at No. 5 singles, while Jamison earned a 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 three-set victory at the No. 6 spot. With his win at No. 5 singles, Boyer improved to a team-best 17-5 overall this season, while Jamison reached double-digit singles wins with his victory at the No. 6 spot.
In doubles, Mindry and Jamison posted a 7-5 win, improving to a team-best 5-2 this spring.
Cleveland State will close out the weekend with a doubleheader on Sunday, February 18, hosting Buffalo at 10:00 a.m. and Findlay at 3:00 p.m.
