Cleveland State Men’s Tennis Has Four Earn All-League Honors

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – After finishing out regular season play last week and clinching the No. 2 seed for the upcoming Horizon League Tournament, the Cleveland State men's tennis team was honored with multiple postseason accolades from the league Thursday, with Mikael Erler, Maxime Mareschal-Hay, Clark Bilinovich, and Kade Mindry all earning postseason awards. 

Erler and Mareschal-Hay were both named to the All-League First Team, while Bilinovich and Mindry both earned a spot on the All-League Second Team.  

This marks the second straight season that the Vikings had two representatives on the All-League First Team and four total All-League honorees. 

MIKAEL ERLER | SO | FIRST TEAM
Erler earns a spot on the All-League First Team after finishing with a 17-12 overall record, including a 4-1 mark against league opponents. Erler is one of five Vikings to record 15+ wins on the year, and has spent the spring season playing throughout the top half of the lineup.  

As a three-time Horizon League Singles Player of the Week, Erler enters #HLTennis Tournament play having won 11 of his last 13 matches and five of his last six. 

In doubles play, Erler has spent the majority of the spring season playing at No. 3 doubles with Maxime Mareschal-Hay, as the duo owns a 6-2 record this spring. Against league opponents, Erler and Mareschal-Hay posted a 4-1 record, earning Horizon League Doubles Team of the Week accolades.

Erler is the 11th Viking to earn a spot on the All-League First Team. 

MAXIME MARESCHAL-HAY | SO | FIRST TEAM
Mareschal-Hay was named to the All-League First Team after notching an 18-16 overall record this year, including a 9-10 mark at No. 1 singles this spring. Despite having to sit out multiple matches due to injury, Mareschal-Hay finished regular season play with a 4-2 record against league opponents at the top of the lineup.  

As a three-time Horizon League Singles Player of the Week, Mareschal-Hay ranks second on the team with his 18 singles wins this year, while he is one of five Vikings to post 15+ victories. 

Mareschal-Hay has combined for a team-best 15-11 doubles record this season, including a 6-2 record with Mikael Erler playing primarily at No. 3 doubles this spring. Against league opponents, Mareschal-Hay and Erler posted a 4-1 record, earning Horizon League Doubles Team of the Week accolades.

This marks the second straight season that Mareschal-Hay has earned postseason honors from the Horizon League, and is the 12th Viking to earn a spot on the All-League First Team.

CLARK BILINOVICH | SR | SECOND TEAM
Bilinovich has been named to the All-League Second Team following a perfect 8-0 regular season record against league opponents playing throughout the lineup. Overall this season, Bilinovich owns a 16-11 record – one of five Vikings with 15+ wins on the year.  

For his career, Bilinovich finished with a 17-1 overall record in regular season league matches, posting undefeated campaigns as a senior and freshman (6-0).

Entering tournament play, Bilinovich is on a team-best nine-match win streak, and is currently 12th on the CSU Singles Wins List with 64 career victories. 

In doubles, Bilinovich has teamed with Raul Teichmann for the majority of the season, owning a team-best 7-3 record at the top of the lineup. As two-time Horizon League Doubles Team of the Week honorees, the duo finished with a 5-1record against league opponents, and is closing in on earning a spot on the CSU Doubles Wins List with 19 wins as a duo. 

Bilinovich is the 16th Viking to earn a spot on the All-League Second Team. 

KADE MINDRY | JR | SECOND TEAM
Mindry earns a spot on the All-League Second Team after posting a team-best 23-15 singles record this season, including a 12-11 mark throughout the middle of the lineup this spring. Mindry's 23 wins is just shy of the CSU Single-Season Top-10 List, while it marks the first 20-win campaign of his collegiate career.  

Through regular season matches, Mindry posted a 6-2 record against league opponents playing at No. 2 and No. 3 singles, and enters tournament play having won seven of his last eight matches. 

Throughout the season, Mindry has been part of Cleveland State's No. 2 doubles team with JuandeDios Abboud, as the duo finished regular season play with a 3-3 record against league opponents. 

Mindry is the 17th Viking to earn a spot on the All-League Second Team.
