Cleveland State’s Mareschal-Hay & Mindry Named To #HLTennis All-Academic Team

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Horizon League announced the 2022 Men's Tennis All-Academic Team Tuesday afternoon, with the Cleveland State duo of Maxime Mareschal-Hay and Kade Mindry earning a spot on the six-player team.

Mareschal-Hay and Mindry are both earning All-Academic honors for their first time in their careers.

Mareschal-Hay – a sophomore from Quebec, Canada – is currently studying sport management and has been named to the CSU Dean's List every semester of his collegiate career.

On the court, Mareschal-Hay has been Cleveland State's top singles player this year, combining for a record of 18-16 on the season, including a 4-2 mark against league opponents at No. 1 singles. Throughout the year, Mareschal-Hay has been named the Horizon League Singles Player of the Week three times, while also earning a Doubles Team of the Week accolade.

Mindry – a junior from Durban, South Africa – is pursuing a degree in finance and has been an annual member of the CSU Dean's List.

So far this season, Mindry has spent most of his time in the top half of the singles lineup, posting a team-best 23-15 record on the year, including a 6-2 mark against league opponents. Mindry picked up Doubles Team of the Week accolades earlier this year, as part of Cleveland State's league-leading six doubles honors on the year.

Mareschal-Hay and Mindry are part of a Cleveland State team that enters this weekend's #HLTennis Tournament as the No. 2 seed, and will be trying for the program's ninth tournament title.
