Cleveland State Men’s Tennis Returns Home To Host UIC & IUPUI

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State men's tennis team will begin a three-match homestand to close out the regular season this weekend, hosting UIC on Friday, April 15 and IUPUI on Saturday, April 16.

Last Time Out…
The Vikings picked up a pair of wins at St. Bonaventure (5-2) and Northern Kentucky (7-0) to close out a four-match roadswing last weekend. The 7-0 victory against the Norse marked Cleveland State's fifth sweep of the season, and improved the Vikings to 4-1 in Horizon League play.  

Vikings At The MMTP
The Vikings will close out the regular season with three straight home matches at the Medical Mutual Tennis Pavilion – a place where the Vikings have compiled a 42-7 record over the last five years. Included in Cleveland State's 42 wins, is a perfect 11-0 record against league opponents at the MMTP over the last four seasons of league play.  

Bilinovich Notches 60th Career Singles Win
After picking up a pair of wins against St. Bonaventure and Northern Kentucky last weekend, senior Clark Bilinovich eclipsed the 60-win mark for his career, entering the weekend ranked 13th on the CSU singles Wins List with 61 victories. Bilinovich, who became the 14th Viking all-time to reach the 60-win milestone, has won six straight matches and owns a perfect 5-0 mark against Horizon League opponents this year. 

Mindry Records 20-Win Campaign
Kade Mindry became the first Viking to record a 20-win campaign this year after picking up a pair of wins at No. 3 singles last time out. Mindry, who recorded the first 20-win season of his career, enters the weekend with a team-best 21-14 singles record and has won five straight matches. 

Bilinovich & Teichmann Named #HLTennis Doubles Team of the Week
For the league-leading sixth time this season the Vikings were honored with Horizon League Doubles Team of the Week honors, as Clark Bilinovich and Raul Teichmann earned the accolade after going 2-0 at No. 1 doubles last weekend. Bilinovich and Teichmann helped the Vikings pick up the doubles point in both matches, giving Cleveland State the early 1-0 lead in six straight matches. 

…Bilinovich & Teichmann Closing In On CSU Doubles Wins List
After owning a team-best 6-2 record this spring – including a perfect 4-0 mark against league opponents – Clark Bilinovich and Raul Teichmann are closing in on the CSU Doubles Wins List, currently standing at 18-6 on their careers. The duo needs just four more wins to earn a spot in the top-10 on the CSU Doubles Wins List.
