Cleveland State Men’s Tennis Set For Matches At St. Bonaventure & NKU

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State men's tennis team will continue its spring campaign this weekend, traveling to St. Bonaventure on Friday, April 8 and Northern Kentucky on Sunday, April 10.

Cleveland State enters the weekend on a three-match win streak, including back-to-back 7-0 sweeps against IUPUI and UIC last time out. 

Friday's match at St. Bonaventure will be the final non-league contest for the Vikings this season, and will be a break in their eight-match #HLTennis slate. 

The Vikings are currently on a four-match roadswing to begin the month of April, while Cleveland State will close out the month with three straight home contests. 

Earlier this week the Vikings swept the Horizon League weekly awards for the fourth time this season, as Maxime Mareschal-Hay was named the Singles Player of the Week and Mareschal-Hay and Mikael Erler were named the Doubles Team of the Week. 

Seven Vikings have recorded 10+ singles wins so far this season, including Kade Mindry who enters the weekend with a team-best 19-14 record. In dual matches only, Erler leads the way for Cleveland State with a 12-5 record. 

Clark Bilinovich is one of the Vikings with 10+ singles wins on the year, while he moved into sole possession of 14th place on the CSU Singles Wins List with 59 career victories after going 2-0 last weekend. 

So far this season, the Vikings have picked up the doubles point in all four Horizon League matches, with Bilinovich and Raul Teichmann owning a 3-0 record against league opponents, Erler and Mareschal-Hay standing at 3-1 and JuandeDios Abboud and Mindry owning a 2-1 mark in league matches.
