Cleveland State Men’s Tennis Sweeps #HLTennis Weekly Awards

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – For the fourth time this season the Cleveland State men's tennis team has swept the Horizon League weekly awards, as Maxime Mareschal-Hay has been named the Singles Player of the Week and Mareschal-Hay and Mikael Erler were named the Doubles Team of the Week.

This marks the third time this season that Mareschal-Hay has been named the Singles Player of the week, while it marks the first time that Mareschal-Hay and Erler have earned Doubles Team of the week honors.

Last weekend, Mareschal-Hay picked up back-to-back straight-set wins at No. 1 singles, earning a 6-2, 6-0 win against IUPUI and a 6-3, 7-6(5) victory against UIC.

He has played the entire spring season at the top of the lineup for the Vikings, and now owns a 17-14 record overall this year. Mareschal-Hay finished the weekend on a three-match win streak, and stands at 3-1 against league opponents this season.

In doubles action, Mareschal-Hay and Erler went 2-0 at No. 3 doubles, picking up a 6-3 win against IUPUI and a 7-6(4) victory against UIC. The tandem clinched the doubles point against UIC, keeping Cleveland State's streak alive of four straight doubles points won – every Horizon League match so far this season.

For the spring, the sophomore duo is 5-2, including a 3-1 mark in Horizon League matches.
