Cleveland State Men’s Tennis Sweeps #HLTennis Weekly Awards

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – After picking up three straight wins last week, the Cleveland State men's tennis team has swept the Horizon League Weekly honors, as Mikael Erler was named the Singles Player of the Week and Clark Bilinovich and Kade Mindry earned Doubles Team of the Week accolades.

This marks the second time this season that the Vikings have swept the weekly honors, while it's the fourth Singles Player of the Week accolade for Cleveland State and the second Doubles Team of the Week nod.

Erler, Bilinovich and Mindry helped the Vikings to a 3-0 stretch last week, picking up wins against Duquesne, Buffalo and Lawrence Tech.

Playing at the top two spots in the singles lineup, Erler went 3-0 on the week, picking up one win at No. 1 singles and two wins at the No. 2 spot. He began the week with a 6-3, 6-3 victory against Duquesne at No. 1 singles, and followed that up with a pair of wins at No. 2 singles against Buffalo (7-5, 7-5) and Lawrence Tech (6-1, 6-1).

The sophomore now owns a team-best 6-4 singles record this spring, while also representing the fourth Viking to reach double-digit singles wins on the season.

In the doubles lineup, Mindry and Bilinovich appeared together at the No. 1 spot against Buffalo, picking up a 6-1 victory. It marked the first time the duo was playing together this spring, while the win put them at 2-2 overall this season.
