CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State men's tennis team will continue the 2022 spring campaign with a pair of matches this weekend, hosting Buffalo (2:00 p.m.) and Lawrence Tech (6:00 p.m.) on Saturday, February 26.

2021 #HLTennis Championship Celebration
Prior to Saturday's first match against Buffalo the Vikings will unveil their 2021 Horizon League Regular Season and Tournament Championship banner at the MMTP. Last year's 2021 #HLTennis title marked the third straight championship for the Vikings and the eighth in program history.

…2022 #HLTennis Preseason Poll
Earlier this season, the Vikings were selected as the preseason favorite to win the Horizon League, picked to defend their back-to-back-to-back titles in the #HLTennis Preseason Poll. The Vikings secured four first-place votes, along with 24 points to beat out second place Youngstown State by six points. Northern Kentucky, UIC and IUPUI rounded out the poll.

Vikings At The MMTP
This weekend's matches against Buffalo and Lawrence Tech are in the middle of a six-match home stand for the Vikings. Overall this season, Cleveland State is slated to play 10 matches at the MMTP, a place where the Vikings own a 33-7 record over the last five years.

#HLTennis Weekly Honors
Throughout the first five weeks of the 2022 spring campaign, Cleveland State has captured three Horizon League Singles Player of the Week honors and one Horizon League Doubles Team of the Week accolade. Sophomore Maxime Mareschal-Hay picked up two singles player of the week honors, while Mikael Erler earned one. Cleveland State's doubles team of Hugo Chatras and Austin Stagier claimed the doubles team of the week accolade.

Bilinovich Moves Up Singles Wins List
After becoming the 17th Viking to reach the 50-win milestone during the fall season, senior Clark Bilinovich currently ranks 15th on the CSU Singles Wins List with 55 career victories. Bilinovich needs just three more wins to move into a tie for 14th place, while he needs five more wins to become the 14th Viking to reach 60 career singles victories.

Head Coach Brian Etzkin
The Vikings will be under the direction of 20-year head coach Brian Etzkin. As the all-time winningest coach in program history, Etzkin currently has 279 career wins. Etzkin is one of the longest tenured coaches in the Horizon League, and is the only men's coach to record 275+ wins at their current school.
