Cleveland State Men’s Tennis Wraps Up Roadswing Against Dartmouth

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Cleveland State men's tennis team wrapped up its season-opening six-match roadswing Saturday, dropping a 6-1 contest against Dartmouth.

"The guys played hard this weekend, and I know that these tough matches will pay dividends sooner rather than later for us," head coach Brian Etzkin said. "Max had quite a weekend for us, as he was locked in during all of his matches and showed great mental toughness. After this long stretch on the road, we are looking forward to finally playing at home over the next couple weeks."

Cleveland State's lone point on the day came from sophomore Maxime Mareschal-Hay at the top of the singles lineup, as he posted a 6-4, 6-7(5), 7-5 victory against Carlos Guerrero Alvarez.

This marked Mareschal-Hay's second singles win of the weekend, as he now stands at 3-3 this spring, and is tied for the team-lead with 12 singles wins on the year.

The Vikings will finally play at home over the final weeks of February, beginning with a match against Dayton on Friday, February 18.
