TULSA, Okla. – The Cleveland State men's tennis duo of Maxime Mareschal-Hay and Mikael Erler competed at the ITA All-American Championships Saturday, with both posting 1-1 singles records in the prequalifying draw.
Both Vikings picked up wins in their first round matches, Mareschal-Hay with a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Oklahoma State's Nicolas Pesoli and Erler with a 7-5, 6-1 victory over Omaha's Davis Lawley.
Mareschal-Hay and Erler then bowed out of the prequalifying draw in the second round, dropping matches against Logan Zapp of North Carolina and Eban Straker-Meads of Northern Arizona, respectively.
This duo marked the fourth and fifth Vikings to participate in the ITA All-American Championships over the last four years, as the Vikings have now made an appearance in three straight ITA All-American Championship events.
Next up for Cleveland State will be the WMU/Vredevelt Invite hosted by Western Michigan, which will take place Saturday, October 9 and Sunday, October 10.
