TULSA, Okla. – The Cleveland State men's tennis team wrapped up action at the ITA All-American Championship Tuesday, as Nico Mostardi bowed out in the Qualifying Draw Second Round and Matthew Terry picked up a Qualifying Draw Consolation victory.

UPDATED ITA ALL-AMERICAN CHAMPIONSHIP DRAWS

Mostardi, who advanced to the Qualifying Draw Second Round for the second straight season, dropped a 6-3, 6-2 match against Florida's Josh Goodger who was ranked No. 68 in the preseason Oracle/ITA rankings. This marked the third nationally ranked opponent for Mostardi this fall, as he now stands at 1-2 in ranked singles matches.

After posting a 1-1 record at this year's ITA All-American Championship, Mostardi stands at 2-2 for his career in the prestigious tournament.

"Overall this was a great opportunity for us this weekend – Nico, Matt and Luke played a lot of quality matches and definitely got better because of the experience that this tournament provided them," head coach Brian Etzkin said. "The three of them are all playing some very good tennis right now, and I'm excited to regroup and head to regionals in a couple weeks where we will have another chance to face some tough competition and show people what Cleveland State tennis is all about."

Terry, who was playing in a Qualifying Draw consolation match, picked up a 6-4, 6-3 straight-set victory over Tulsa's Tom Thelwall-Jones Tuesday morning, improving to a team-best 9-1 in singles play this season.

This marked the sixth match for Terry over the last four days, as he finished the ITA All-American Championship with a 5-1 record on the week.

For his career, Terry now has 62 career singles wins, and is tied for 10th on the CSU Singles Wins List.

Mostardi and Terry will return to action at the ITA Midwest Regional, which will begin on Thursday, October 17, and will be hosted by Ohio State.
